Passion

Janita started her art business in 1998 and established Neru Indonesia in Ubud in 2008
to showcase the creative journey of artists, crafters, and designers.
On offer are one-of-a-kind jewelry and accessories, and specially designed homeware.

With unique designs, they produced on a small scale
and show a touch of Indonesia.

Her current interests include collaborative projects for art, sharing knowledge
and experience among art lovers, and supporting youth and emerging artists.

Neru Indonesia also supports a group of Ubud residents - 2nd Chance Ubud -
who shares a passion for reducing waste, and creating loveable,
beautifully designed articles. They source “previously loved” clothing;
collect fabric off-cuts from local designers; and previously owned items
from individual supporters of 2nd Chance Ubud. The funds generated by
the sale of 2nd Chance Ubud items are returned to the community towards scholarships
or supporting various humanitarian organisations.

Collage (from the French: coller, to glue) is a work of formal art,
primarily in the visual arts, made from an assemblage of different forms,
thus creating a new whole.

Assemblage is an artistic process in which a three-dimensional
artistic composition is made from putting together found objects.

Janita has been creating collage since 2006 for art-journaling
and answering to several online art challenges.

She prefers to recycle waste to create an artwork. Clip magazine pages
by selecting interesting page and cutting it to her drawing on tracing paper.
Found object and ordinary items like Made in China pencil always amuse her. Inspire her.
She likes objects to be part of her artwork.
The art theme is developed from pictures she found in the process
and objects she already collected.

She enjoys working on a small piece, in individual frame or
a series of small frames, so that she can keep the message of her art.

The message is simple.

The artwork looks simple.
